Now-August 8: Grief Share Old Town United Methodist Church is sponsoring a grief support group called Grief Share. This is a support group open to anyone in the area who has suffered the loss of a loved one. Griefshare is a 13 week program held on Fridays beginning May 2nd until August 8. Meetings will be held at Old Town United Methodist Church, 726 Stillwater Ave. from 10:00am-11:30 am. Sessions will include a presentation, workbook activities, & small group discussion. July 25-26: Encounter Student Conference at The Rock Church, Bangor This will be an unforgettable experience for students ages 12-17 focused on what it looks like to have a genuine faith rooted in a strong relationship with Christ through worship, messages, discussion panels and community group time. Tickets are $25 & include snacks on Friday evening, a light breakfast on Saturday morning, and Chick- Fil- A lunch in the afternoon. Our focus for this year's conference is IDENTITY! September 6: Day Of Joy at the Bangor Waterfront Mark your calendars for the 3rd annual "day of Joy event." This is a day of Christian living, where we provide everything for free: music, breakfast lunch free haircut, free clothes, children’s ministry, free Bible, and most importantly, we offer salvation.Our motto is feed the soul and feed the body. September 20: Bangor Out of Darkness Walk to Fight Suicide The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Walks provide an opportunity for communities to walk together toward a world without suicide. Together, we can create a better understanding of mental health and how to be there for each other, including ourselves, when someone is struggling. Join us on the Bangor Waterfront Park on September 20th to connect and heal with others while raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention. Check in at 9 am and walk at 10 am.
